Choosing Bean Bag Chairs

Some may think it’s unnecessary to talk about how to choose bean bag chairs, but it’s very much like choosing clothes. The wrong choice may look unappealing. Choosing this type of chair should be integrated into your interior design.

Chairs of any type add to the appearance of your room. More than adding an indoor appeal, chairs are also important part of your furniture set. A bean bag chair would be perfect inside a gaming room or even as an addition to your living room chair set. It can be placed in the corner or between two long sofas, depending on your living room design and furniture set. So the question now is how to choose your chair. It doesn’t have to be difficult and there are usually four things to consider: fabric, design, size, and fill.

There are different types of bean bags in the market and they are made of a variety of fabrics. It can be covered in vinyl, leather, fur, denim, cotton cloth, or microfiber. Vinyl is commonly used and chosen because it is easy to clean, but its surface can be sticky. Sometimes, the fabric is not very important. What’s more important is the quality of the fabric. High quality fabric should be durable and friction-resistant. Otherwise, you would be replacing the cover too often. Moreover, it should have liners so that you can remove the covers without directly exposing the filling material. Covers are removed for washing or replacement.

The size and shape of a bean bag chair should be considered. You don’t want large chairs in a small room. Many just buy whatever chairs they see and realize what they bought doesn’t seem to go with their living room design. Usually, people just choose a shape or size based solely on preference, not taking into consideration if a particular chair would look right in their room. Did you know that the shape of a chair affects comfort? For instance, pear-shaped ones are bigger and provide more back support. Then there is the pancake shaped chair, which is flatter and is more like a recliner than a chair. There are smaller ones that are specifically designed for kids.

The material inside the bean bag is called the fill, which can be made up of polystyrene material. Polystyrene fill has a soft quality that provide years of comfort. Polystyrene can withstand repeated compression so that it doesn’t lose volume and softness in the long run. Today, a lot of manufacturers of bean bags use recycled polystyrene. Buying chairs filled with recycled polystyrene material is targeted for the environment-friendly consumer.

Often, people end up buying a chair that doesn’t look appropriate in their room. So, the first thing to do is to look at your room and imagine the kind of bean bag that would fit in it. The design and color of a bean bag chair determine whether it complements your interior design. You may want to hold onto your chair receipt; just in case your purchase does not look appealing once you have bought and installed it.

Moving to Gilbert, AZ? Here Are a Dozen FUN Things to See and Do

[ad_1]

If you are contemplating buying a home in Arizona, you will be hard pressed to find a more comfortable, family friendly city than Gilbert. Gilbert real estate continues to be affordable, and it has great neighborhoods and highly performing schools. Although technically it is a town, rather than a city, it has experienced phenomenal growth in the past couple of decades, yet it continues to have an easy-going, small town atmosphere that is the envy of other cities in the Phoenix Metro area. It has an ever-expanding variety of shopping and dining choices, and excellent freeway access to the north and south. There are also myriad ways of entertaining yourself; following are some of my favorites.

  • The Gilbert Historical Museum, housed in the former Gilbert Elementary School is the place to learn about the Gilbert of old. Exhibits cover the history of the town, its ranchers and cowboys, farming, irrigation and mining. There are dioramas, classic fire equipment and a military room as well.
  • The Gilbert Farmers Market takes place Saturday mornings, rain or shine, year-round. You can buy fresh produce, gourmet coffee, steaks, seafood; shop for eclectic gifts and housewares, or have a snack and listen to live music. You can even take the kids on a hay ride!
  • Freestone Park and Recreation Center , with its wide open space is a great place to spend the day. Besides a fishing lake, trails, volleyball, basketball, and baseball facilities, there is a train and other rides for the little ones. The Recreation Center has workout facilities, youth programs and a climbing wall.
  • The Riparian Reserve at Water Ranch provides a great service to the environment. Located on 110 acres, this facility passes treated water from the town through several lakes and dry beds. This serves to replenish the water table and provides refuge for many species of migratory birds. Several ecosystems have been replicated around the lakes, with an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Trails connect the different lakes, and there are opportunities for fishing, biking, horseback riding, even nighttime stargazing at the observatory.
  • The Hale Center Theater in Old Town is reputed to be the longest running privately owned and operated theater company in America. Hosted by the Gilbert Fine Arts Association, you can take in a wide variety of plays and shows for both adults and children.
  • Fat Cats is a ton of fun rolled into one for kids of all ages. You can visit the arcade, play Glow Golf, bowl a few frames, or catch a movie. The theater serves appetizers, sandwiches and bar food delivered right to your seat! It is a great place for your next birthday party or youth group. Spend a day and beat the heat!
  • Cosmo Dog Park , named after Gilbert's first K-9 officer, is one of the most highly rated dog parks in the country. It has lots of fields and hills for running, a swimming lake for the dogs, a bathing area and a timid dog area. Fido and Spot will love you for bringing them here!
  • Gilbert Days Rodeo and Parade occurs over three days in November. This fun for the whole family event has its roots in the days of cowboys and ranchers. You can get your fix of ropin 'and ridin', have a funnel cake, and enjoy the festivities. The Parade includes classic vehicles, floats, and all manner of horsemen and women doing their thing.
  • San Tan Village is one of Gilbert's newest developments. A huge assortment of shops from Apple to Zumies are represented in an outdoor, shaded area reminiscent of an old downtown. From casual to exotic, you have a lot of choices in dining as well, for lunch, dinner or a relaxing libation on the patio.
  • The downtown area, or Old Town as the locals refer to it, is a great place for a stroll. Bounded to the south by the railroad tracks and the north by a multi-use trail, this area has an ever growing selection of great restaurants, a funky coffeehouse, and window shopping galore. You can stretch your legs and visit historic buildings, enjoy park space, and see the historic Water Tower. Turn the kids loose in a fountain!
  • If you're a golfer, there are several courses in town and close by. Western Skies, Greenfield Lakes, Seville and Trilogy at Power Ranch are courses that cater to "duffers" and scratch golfers alike.
  • Speaking of golf, you can tune up your drive and so much more at Top Golf . Their 21st Century take on the "ol 'driving range" is a great place to take a lesson, have a drink or dinner with friends, or plan your next corporate outing or a bachelor party.
There are so many things to see and do in Gilbert, Arizona; we have just scratched the surface. Whether you want to buy a home in Gilbert or are moving to Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler or Tempe, be sure to visit Gilbert for some great times!

Top 5 Office Chairs and Designs

For people who sit for long periods of time at the office or at home, a comfortable, back-friendly chair is indispensable. In fact, back pain is the second most common reason for employee absenteeism. Many chair design companies have recognized this problem, and have come up with a plethora of ergonomic, back-friendly designs. A list of the top 5 office chair designs can be found below:

1.) Aeron Chair

The Aeron Chair by Herman Millar is an ergonomic, earth friendly chair that is wonderful for maintaining posture. Its pellicle suspension distributes weight evenly over the seat and back, thereby reducing pressure points, and allowing the body to make micro adjustments. A special mesh helps to prevent sweating by creating a better air flow. The Aeron Chair comes in three sizes, and has adjustable seat height and arm rests.

2.) Verte Office Chair

The Verte Office Chair, considered to be an actual orthopaedic device, has a dual vertebrae support system that helps to improve posture. It is an ergonomic chair that moulds to the spine, and has a patented control that allows the user to adjust the chair to the perfect setting. Its 11 torsion spring-loaded bearing joints help to improve posture by creating muscle memory. The unique look of the chair may not be for everyone, but the comfort of the chair is sure to overcome any qualms about its appearance.

3.) Doctor Riter’s ErgoChair

Though odd in appearance, Doctor Riter’s ErgoChair is rated very highly for its positive impact on back health. The seat of the chair is made of an inflatable egg-shaped ball, and can be inflated to the comfort level of the individual user. The main idea behind the egg-shape seat is that the user is forced to use abdominal and leg muscles to retain balance. The spine’s natural curve is maintained, and body posture and circulation can be improved.

4.) Smart Chair Biofeedback Computer Chair

Designed by Jian Guan, the Smart Chair is definitely unique in its look and function. The springs in this chair are constantly being adjusted through a built-in biofeedback system. Biofeedback sensors in the chair send signals to the springs, and micro adjustments are made. It is charged by a built-in Lithium battery, and there is a 3″ touch screen on the arm. It can be changed into a sofa or rocker.

5.) Herman Miller Embody Chair

The Herman Miller Embody Chair adapts to the shape of the spine. The chair uses special materials to cover the chair that behave like skin, allowing air to flow naturally and decreasing sweating.

So the next time you’re looking to kit out your office with some new office chairs, have a little think about what you really and what is on offer, it could be your health that you preserve!

The Malecon – Puerto Vallarta’s Famous Boardwalk

One of the most popular activities in Puerto Vallarta is a stroll down the city’s famed boardwalk, the Malecon. Lined with shops, restaurants and artwork, the Malecon provides great entertainment for all ages and budgets. The young and fashionable can shop during the day and hit the restaurants and clubs at night. Families can enjoy the scenery, find plenty of friendly people and activities and rest on any of the boardwalk’s many rustic benches. There is something for everyone down on the Malecon, one of Puerto Vallarta’s most popular attractions.

Most visitors begin their stroll on the north end of the Malecon outside the Hotel Rosita. Here you will find the first sculpture of Puerto Vallarta’s unique outdoor museum. “Los Milenios,” the work of Mathis Lidice, is one of the most popular and most photographed works on the boardwalk. Another of the Malecon’s most famous sculptures is the “Rotonda del Mar,” a quirky construction of chairs by local artist Alejandro Colunga. Lying at the midway point of the Malecon, this sculpture is surrounded by benches and offers a great place to rest and enjoy the view.

On Tuesday mornings, Gary Thompson – owner of the Galleria Pacifico – offers public sculpture tours along the Malecon. Thompson has been involved in the Puerto Vallarta art scene for over 30 years and offers an incredible perspective on both the sculptures and the artists behind them. Beginning outside the Hotel Rosita at 9:30 am, the tours end at Thompson’s gallery where visitors are offered refreshments and additional information on the city’s unique artwork. As an added bonus, Ramiz Barquet – one of Puerto Vallarta’s most recognized artists, whose sculpture “La Nostalgia” serves as an international symbol of the city – is often present to offer interested tourists a firsthand account of the Malecon’s artistic significance.

Recently, the Malecon was extended even further with the construction of a bridge over the Rio Cuale. Besides offering a beautiful place to stop and watch the sunset or just enjoy the water, the bridge connects the boardwalk to one of Puerto Vallarta’s most popular beaches – Playa de Los Muertos. A favorite of local families, Los Muertos is an excellent beach for relaxing or setting up a picnic. If you want to do a little shopping on the beach, the friendly vendors of Los Muertos sell everything from handmade souvenirs to fresh-cooked seafood.

Much like Los Muertos, there are plenty of vendors offering fresh cooked specialties on the boardwalk. However, you should definitely try some of the great food offered at the Malecon’s restaurants. Serving everything from adventurous European cuisine to traditional Mexican fare, the restaurants of the Malecon cater to everyone’s tastes. Many restaurants and cafes also offer patio seating on the boardwalk. Tourists and locals agree that a patio seat on the boardwalk might be the best way to enjoy a majestic sunset over Banderas Bay.

The Malecon offers plenty of shopping, too. Besides the souvenir shops, you will see boutiques selling handmade jewelry and leather goods. There are even some luxury shops offering couture clothing, fine jewelry and truly distinctive souvenirs.

The Malecon is also the best nightlife destination in Puerto Vallarta. From dance clubs open until the wee hours to relaxing lounges with live jazz, the Malecon caters to any mood. It is even possible to take an evening cruise in Banderas Bay along the Malecon. There are a number of ships catering to families and couples alike, each offering dinner and live entertainment. After the sun sets across the bay, you will be able to see the Malecon light up as fireworks shoot into the sky.

On Sunday nights, the Malecon is transformed into a family-friendly festival. While the crowd will consist of many tourists, local families also come to the Malecon to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and fireworks displays. Los Arcos Amphitheatre, the end point of the Malecon, is known for free Sunday night concerts and performances. Out on the boardwalk, clowns and street performers also provide plenty of free entertainment. Most of the Malecon’s great restaurants will be open late and offer special menus for children. For desert, your family can enjoy cotton candy and fried bananas served by the boardwalk vendors.

Though anytime is perfect for a stroll on the Malecon, November is a particularly good time to visit Puerto Vallarta. Marking the beginning of the holiday travel season, Puerto Vallarta offers a large art festival with plenty of free events, all revolving around the Malecon.
